Be a part of Calgary’s longest running annual duathlon! Our awesome volunteers make the day fun by ensuring you stay on course, cheering you on and serving you lunch after the race. Athletes will enjoy the precise organization and execution of a Blitz event, all with a laid back atmosphere. RACE START 10 AM!
The race will start from the Station Flats parking area and take you west along the Elbow Valley/Sulphur Springs trail for 3.5km before heading back to the transition area at Station Flats. The bike is an out and back south/west on Highway 66 with lots of rolling hills (20k), followed by a shorter 4km loop on the Tom Snow Trail to finish the race. See Course Map.
*Trail Run: these are not your typical city trails with nice groomed, even shale paths. You are in the back country where the trails have loose gravel, rocks, tree roots, uneven terrain, hills, water, cow patties etc. So make sure to get out and do some “trail” running before the race. Get those ankles nice and strong!
