Manager at Glenmore Sailing Club
The Glenmore Sailing Club Manager is an administrative position supporting the business operations of the sailing club and the Board members.
The scope of this position includes:
Manage all aspects of the rental of the Club facility for private, member and community events
Manage event and lesson registrations, including Club programming such as Summer Sail Camps, Scouts Canada Program, Warrior Sailing, Sailing in the City and various other programs.
Communicate with public regarding Club, it’s programming, and offerings, including responding to inquiries from interested parties.
Managing the Club's voicemail system, replying to general calls and directing calls to Board members as appropriate for follow up
Accounts receivable and payable including banking in coordination with the treasurer
Work with membership coordinator to track membership and deal with membership accounts
Prepare grant applications (including follow up reporting) and seeking out new grant opportunities
Recruit, coordinate and track hours for volunteers at events
Coordinate and liaise with partners and other organizations
Ensuring any required repairs and maintenance of the Club is brought to the attention of the House Captain.
Supervising the “Kitchen and Bar” activities for compliance with Health & Safety regulations
Supervising club cleanup after activities.
Develop and document repeatable business processes for the role
Participate in board meetings
Communications management, including website, message, social media, and channel management
Advance the vision and business goals of the board, while promoting sailing as a fun and safe activity for all
Other tasks as assigned by the Staff Committee or Board
The successful applicant:
Strong spoken, written and computer skills
Ability to work independently
Familiarity with the CANSail Program Progression, Checklick and Wild Apricot an asset but not required
Ability to collaborate with Staff Committee and Board members
Ability to manage and set priorities
Experience working with volunteers
Competent bookkeeping and accounting skills
Knowledge of grant application writing / willingness to learn
