Outrun the Stigma Calgary

Outrun the Stigma is Western Canada's largest student-initiated mental health run. Since 2013, Outrun the Stigma has raised funds for local mental health charities and organizations, raised awareness on mental health and stigma, and acted as a community hub for sharing stories and building connections. Help us continue to support this vital community organization and end mental health stigma.

Outrun the Stigma is working towards destigmatizing mental illness by raising mental health awareness in communities throughout Canada. To accomplish this, we host an annual mental health run and exposition for hundreds of participants with the help of various organizations. All funds raised from the event is donated to Distress Centre Calgary. Our goal is to combine story-sharing with a fun active event to foster discussions regarding mental health, which will reduce stigma and promote available resources in the community. We hope that through this event we can illustrate the support Calgarians and local businesses have towards this cause. Last year, Outrun the Stigma Calgary had an amazing turnout of over 800 participants and raised over $90,000 dollars for Distress Centre Calgary.
