Al Price


Al Price has an extensive history of sport and volunteering involvement, as a player, teacher, coach and parent.

He spent over 20 years with the Calgary Board of Education, fulfilling many different roles including teacher, coach, athletic director, and administrator. As a Principal, Al launched the first National Sport School at William Aberhart High School. Al has spent over 30 years coaching across multiple sports as a volunteer.

As a volunteer coach, trainer and fundraiser for Special Olympics Calgary (SOC), Al has made an impact on the community. The Price family was recognized as Volunteer Family of the Year for SOC. 

Al continues to develop amateur sport. He has authored and implemented baseball training and development programs in Canada as well as internationally. He has also created curriculum for baseball coaches in Little League International and presented live training and development sessions to over 300,000 coaches worldwide.

Al is a member of the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, and has competed for Canada as a member of the national baseball team. While a student at the University of Alberta, Al also played on the Golden Bears basketball team.

Al has a wife, three daughters and one son, and currently works for Axia FibreNet.
