Danny Da Costa
Danny Da Costa is the General Manager of the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre, and the former Executive Director for Squash Canada.
In his role as General Manager, he has worked closely with shareholders to oversee the construction and development of the Tennis Centre since its inception, including the business planning, hiring and development of all programs. The Alberta Tennis Centre has grown significantly since opening in the spring of 2016 and is regarded as one of the best tennis facilities in North America.
The Centre has welcomed over 150,000 people through its doors since opening. Its Canadian Western Bank School Tennis Program has taught over 7,500 Calgary school-aged children the game of tennis.
Additionally, Danny is the Tournament Director of two international and one national level tennis tournaments: an ITF junior event, an ITF senior event, and the Wheelchair National Championships.
Danny is looking forward to staging the largest indoor professional tennis tournament in Canada, the Calgary National Bank Challenger, in October 2018.
Prior to his role with the Alberta Tennis Centre, Danny served as the Executive Director of Squash Canada for a five-year period. During that time he led the most successful Women's World Team Squash Championship ever held.
Danny would bring experience to the Sport Calgary Board of Directors in sport, fundraising, sponsorship, grants, public relations, strategic planning and corporate governance from his extensive career in sport.
