Calgary, May 30, 2019 – Bringing together hundreds of kids from across the city, Calgary Minor Soccer Association’s (CMSA) Minifest is a grassroots soccer festival for all youth soccer players ages 5 – 8. Held at the Cedarbrae Community Centre, Saturday, June 1 from 10:00AM – 4:00PM, Minifest introduces young players to the game of soccer in a fun environment while promoting physical activity and encouraging families to participate and get involved in supporting their young athletes.

“Minifest is all about fun, but more importantly, provides players with an opportunity to grow and develop within the sport of soccer. We hope that through this positive and encouraging environment, these players will fall in love with the game and continue to play soccer throughout their lives.” Says Jennifer Rowett, CMSA Tournament & Festivals Event Coordinator. “We are looking forward to hosting over 1,500 players and their families this year and we couldn’t do it without the support of our community partners, Tim Hortons and Shane Homes.”

It is with the continued support of Tim Hortons, who sponsors all U6 teams, and Shane Homes who sponsors all U8 teams, that Minifest has grown to be a family-fun event providing kids a chance to celebrate their first time playing soccer in a team environment while making new friends and learning the game.

Additional information on Minifest can be found at www.cmsatourneys.ca and on social media using the hashtag, #cmsaMinifest.
