Essential Science: Physical activity is better than weight loss

Study found that people who are physically active live longer than those who are not. Moreover, sustained physical activity undertaken over time was associated with a substantially lower mortality risk.

According to lead researcher Dr. Trine Moholdt: “Even being somewhat active is better than being inactive, but patients have to maintain the activity level. Physical activity is perishable - if you snooze you lose its benefits.”
