IntegralOrg: Critical Conversations Toolkit - Five essential conversations for nonprofit leaders

Making plans of any sort is challenging in a world of change and uncertainty. Now, perhaps more than ever, it is time for nonprofit leaders to make time for a variety of conversations about areas of critical importance to ongoing sustainability.

The Critical Conversations Toolkit provides a series of question sets meant to spark discussion amongst board and staff teams so that they can critically examine and better understand their organization’s current and anticipated capacity to operate, and their place in the sectoral landscape.

The questions sets include:

  • Health and Safety

  • The Changing Nature of our Workplaces

  • Funding and Finances

  • Governance

  • Program Sustainability

The toolkit also contains tips for holding critical conversations. Critical conversations shift leadership roles from problem-solver to sense-maker and are inclusive, creative, and thought-provoking, allowing new insights to emerge. Both those entrusted with leadership and those who know the organization best should  be involved in the process as there is wisdom in collective thought.

This Critical Conversations Toolkit is the newest addition to IntegralTools, a resource housing practical toolkits, designed to help you find solutions to pressing problems. Access is free - simply click on the link below and create an account.
