INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENT BACK IN CALGARY MAY 25 – MAY 31, 2019 YONEX CALGARY ITF WORLD JUNIOR EVENT

Calgary (AB) – The OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre is hosting the 3rd annual Yonex Calgary ITF World Junior Tennis Tour event from May 25 – 31, 2019. The event is part of the International Tennis Federation’s World Tennis Tour for juniors under 18 years of age.

The event features many of the best up-and-coming junior tennis players in the world as they hit the hard courts at the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre. This year’s event features junior players from 6 countries: Canada, Chile, India, Indonesia, Jordan and USA, competing in the main and qualification rounds.

Alberta Tennis Centre CEO and Tournament Director, Danny Da Costa said, “Canadian tennis has never been as strong as it currently is internationally, and this event is a wonderful opportunity for our up-and-coming players to gain world-ranking points on the ITF Junior World Circuit. Alberta is well represented in the event with a total of 24 boys and girls from the province participating in the week-long event at the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre.

The event features many of the best junior players in Canada including #1 seed Mia Krupes from Edmonton, AB who is the girls #3 ranked U16 singles player in Canada. Martyna Ostrzagalo of Edmonton Alberta, is ranked #2 in Canada U14, while the Top 3 boys in Canada U16 are competing Jaden Weekes, Maxime St. Hilaire both of Quebec and Jayden Templeman the #3 ranked boy U16 in Canada from Ontario.

Admission is free and the action starts Saturday May 25th and runs until May 31st.
